I had an eye trauma. I Was shot in the eye with high powered plastic dart gun. I called several WELL KNOWN Eye clinics and got bounced around and just told to go to the ER when in fact I was already there. They did ct scans on my orbits and my head and treated me vaguely as they do NOT have eye specialists at any local hospitals. I was seeing flashes of light and a yellow vail over my vision. This is usually a sign of a retinal tear. I was super super freaked out.This can only be diagnosed by an eye doctor and not the hospital. My pupils were also different sizes. This is always considered a medical eye emergency and I told this whole story to multiple clinics including the one recommended by the hospital. No one gave 2 craps. I was pretty much out of hope when I called Dr. Boyle’s office. I could not believe I got a down the earth human on the phone who actually heard me out and recognized the severity of the situation. Their schedule was full but they fit me in anyways for an emergency eye exam. Dr.Boyle did multiple tests and assured me my retina was still attached. I do however have a bruised retina and the vitreous gel in my eye was impacted so badly it moved around causing flashes of light in my vision. I felt extremely relieved to learn that it may take a few months to go away but i SHOULD be ok. I literally didn’t sleep for over a week and there is not much scarier then when u are really faced with losing your vision. I’m only 41 and that would be devastating to my life. The entire staff here and doctors are very down to earth and caring people. Dr. Boyle is especially a great man and has old school values u just don’t find around much anymore. I’m really looking forward to my follow up appointment next week . I feel I’m in great hands!
